Mendoza and UOCRA Foundation Sign Agreement to Strengthen Construction Industry Training
The Mendoza Government deepens its educational and labor cooperation policies following the signing of a strategic agreement between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Childhood and General Directorate of Schools (DGE) and the UOCRA Foundation. The accord, signed this Wednesday by Minister Tadeo García Zalazar and executive director Gustavo Gándara, contemplates the development of technical assistance, research, training and technological development promotion projects specifically targeted at workers in the province's construction industry.
The initiative represents a joint effort to link formal education with the concrete needs of the construction labor market, recognizing that construction is a strategic sector for the provincial economy. Both parties agreed that the accord responds to a structural need: to strengthen continuous training and professional growth opportunities for workers performing in different areas of this sector.
Central objectives of the agreement
García Zalazar emphasized during the ceremony the transformative dimension of education in territorial development:
“Education and training are opportunities that open doors and expand possibilities for growth and labor insertion”
. For his part, Gándara outlined the UOCRA Foundation's operational commitment, noting that
“with this agreement we seek to generate concrete training and development tools so that construction workers have more growth opportunities and better labor insertion”
The agreement defines a set of concrete mechanisms to operationalize cooperation. First, it contemplates the generation of information that allows establishing solid links between offering organizations and educational units in the province, creating bridges between the productive sector and institutional training. Likewise, it promotes the systematic exchange of experiences and educational materials to enrich the quality and relevance of pedagogical proposals developed in educational establishments.
Strategic training components
The plan also includes the promotion of practical professional activities and internships between entities that make up the UOCRA Foundation and educational establishments assigned to the initiative. This approach seeks to bring real work experience closer to students and workers in training, generating smoother insertion trajectories and competencies directly transferable to the market.
The comprehensive scheme pursues three crosscutting objectives: to improve educational quality in construction-related proposals, to drive technological and digital updating of teaching staff participating in these programs, and to enhance both employability and entrepreneurial capacity of students and workers across the entire Mendoza region.
