Government Seeks to Streamline RIGI-Linked Imports

Imports associated with projects incorporated into the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI) have reached a peak, as the Government evaluates reducing barriers to the entry of goods destined for extractive activities.
The regime has concentrated the majority of its approved investments in the oil and gas sectors to date. However, authorities are also seeking to improve operational conditions for mining ventures, which require specialized machinery, equipment, and inputs.
The streamlining of import procedures aims to accelerate the arrival of these goods and reduce administrative obstacles for companies developing projects under the incentive scheme.
The measure is part of the government's strategy to promote large investments in sectors considered key for foreign exchange generation and the development of activities linked to natural resources.
