Relación comercial entre Argentina y Bolivia por el gas.

Bolivia could become a buyer of Argentine gas again after nearly two decades as a supplier to the local market. The shift would mark a reversal in the energy relationship between both countries.

For approximately 20 years, Bolivia supplied Argentina under firm supply contracts. That arrangement came to an end in 2024, when the long-term agreement supporting Bolivian exports expired.

With the contract's termination, bilateral gas trade entered a new phase. The possibility that Bolivia may need to import Argentine gas in coming years emerges as a consequence of the closure of a cycle that for a long time had Argentina as the destination for Bolivian fuel.

The eventual reversal of the commercial flow would modify the historical role of each country in the energy relationship. Bolivia, which for years held the position of supplier, could shift to relying on purchases from Argentina.
