TotalEnergies to contribute US$500,000 to Gregorio Álvarez Scholarships

TotalEnergies renewed its support for the third consecutive year for the Gregorio Álvarez Scholarships program, through a contribution of US$500,000. The agreement was formalized at the Casa del Neuquén, at an event led by Governor Rolando Figueroa and the general director of Total Austral and Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Argentina, Sergio Mengoni.

Also attending were the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources, Leticia Esteves, and the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Gustavo Medele, along with TotalEnergies' Social Management and Strategy manager, Claudia Borbolla. During the event, the company also announced the expansion of its Comprehensive Road Safety Program in the Vaca Muerta corridor and in other towns across the province.

Figueroa highlighted the continuity of the contribution and noted that the program constitutes a state policy aimed at expanding educational opportunities for young people in Neuquén. The Gregorio Álvarez Scholarships reach students at different levels and were recognized by UNESCO for their scope and their contribution to ensuring continuity in educational pathways.

“We want to continue supporting the province's development, actively contributing to its economic, social and cultural growth. Education and road safety are two pillars of our social management strategy and of the positive impact we seek to generate in Neuquén,” Mengoni said.

TotalEnergies has taken part in the scholarship program since its creation in 2024. The company is also a member of the Vaca Muerta Institute, a space that brings together companies, governments and educational institutions to promote training related to the energy sector.

Among its social initiatives, the company also runs secondary and higher education scholarships together with the Cimientos Foundation and carries out the Energía Joven program with FORO 21, aimed at introducing high school students to different energy sources and Argentina's energy matrix.
