Río Negro Consolidates Portfolio of 60 Mining Projects

Río Negro is undergoing a mining expansion phase with a portfolio of approximately 60 metallic and energy mineral projects. The initiatives are at different stages, from initial prospecting to productive developments.

Calcatreu occupies a central place in this process and is presented as the leading project of the new stage of the province's metallic mining. Its progress is articulated with greater exploratory activity in the South Line and with interest in resources considered strategic.

The province modified its Mining Procedures Code, established a fiscal stability framework and joined the Incentive Regime for Major Investments. According to the Mining Secretary, Joaquín Aberastain Oro, these measures sought to strengthen predictability, attract investments and support sector growth.

The Río Negro portfolio includes projects for gold, silver, lead, iron and zinc, in addition to rare earth occurrences and initiatives associated with lithium, uranium and vanadium. The diversity of resources reflects the geological potential that the province seeks to develop.

Aberastain Oro also highlighted work aimed at strengthening environmental controls and relations with communities. The official noted that the continuity of public policies and the building of social trust are central factors in sustaining the expansion of mining activity.
