PSJ launches environmental and social studies in Uspallata ahead of construction phase
PSJ Cobre Mendocino announces the start of new studies aimed at updating the Project's Environmental and Social Baseline, as part of the pre-construction phase.
These studies are part of the technical, environmental and social assessments necessary to advance toward the next stages of PSJ Cobre Mendocino development, in compliance with the commitments outlined in the Environmental Impact Report, the requirements of the Environmental Impact Statement, applicable legislation, and national and international standards.
Over the coming months, various teams of professionals and specialists will conduct survey, measurement, monitoring and data processing activities in Uspallata and throughout the Project's area of influence.
The work encompasses more than 160 measurement sites distributed across different environmental and social components, including water, air quality, environmental noise, vibrations, vehicular traffic, socioeconomic baseline and biodiversity.
The overall objective is to update and deepen available information, strengthening the technical foundation necessary for responsible project planning in its pre-construction phase.
This updated baseline, together with the remaining pre-construction studies, will provide a stronger foundation for adjusting future monitoring programs and environmental and social management plans once the Project begins operations.

The Environmental and Social Baseline update is part of the comprehensive advancement of PSJ Cobre Mendocino's pre-construction studies, aimed at consolidating technical, environmental and social information for the Project's responsible development.
