Mendoza to Host Energy and Mining Summit with Cornejo and YPF CEO
La generación de GNLP es una apuesta fuerte en las exportaciones.

The Shale24-Santander Mendoza Energy Summit 2026 will establish itself as the primary forum for decision-makers in Argentina's energy sector, with a full-day program scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026 at the Hilton Hotel in Mendoza.

The summit will feature confirmed participation from Governor Alfredo Cornejo and YPF President and CEO Horacio Marín. It will be co-organized by Shale24 —an information platform—, Santander, and the Mendoza Government.

Thematic Agenda and Debate Areas

The event will address energy and mining as drivers for reconfiguring the nation's energy matrix. The structure will include high-level panels, networking spaces, coffee breaks, and relationship-building lunch.

Central topics include Vaca Muerta, with emphasis on exploration advances and resource characterization of the unconventional play in southern Mendoza, as well as investments in strategic areas such as Paso de las Bardas Norte, CN VII A, Cañadón Amarillo, and Payún Oeste. Discussion will also cover the exploration frontier at Cacheuta in the Cuyana Basin.

The agenda will include the resurgence of conventional production through independent operators revitalizing mature fields, alongside critical infrastructure and midstream challenges for production evacuation and the role of downstream activities.

On renewables, panels will address photovoltaic solar energy, wind power, provincial plans, and hydroelectric generation amid re-tendering of complexes such as Los Nihuiles and El Diamante. Discussions will cover electrical transmission expansion—the primary bottleneck—integration with Chile, battery storage BESS, nuclear energy, and IMPSA's role in turbine supply.

Mining will receive in-depth analysis of its synergies with the electricity sector, with emphasis on Mendoza as an energy supplier for copper and lithium mining projects locally and in neighboring provinces, particularly San Juan.

Target Audiences and Investment

The event targets directors and managers of oil and gas operators, regulatory officials, institutional investors interested in RIGI and Súper RIGI, renewables leaders, mining and electricity sector representatives, and entrepreneurs in the energy value chain.
