La Rioja inaugurates 100 kW solar park in Chamical

The governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, put the 21 de Agosto Solar Park into operation in the town of Chamical. The photovoltaic plant has an installed capacity of 100 kW and has been connected to the local power grid.

According to the information released, the park will supply between 10% and 13% of the energy used by Chamical's public lighting system. The contribution aims to reduce municipal spending and improve efficiency in the use of energy resources.

With this addition, La Rioja now has a total of 14 solar parks distributed across different points in the province. The provincial administration presents the development of renewable energy as part of its energy transition and sustainability strategy.

The installation features bifacial panels mounted on galvanized steel structures, a configuration designed to more efficiently harness solar radiation. The electricity generated is fed directly into Chamical's power system.

During the event, a crane, a truck and ten computers were also delivered to strengthen municipal management and advance the digitalization of public administration. National deputy Gabriela Pedrali highlighted the project's incorporation into the province's energy matrix and raised the need to expand renewable generation.
