Ganfeng enables in-plant customs facility to export lithium from Salta

Litio Minera Argentina, a subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium Latinoamérica, enabled an In-Plant Customs facility at its lithium chloride processing plant located in the General Güemes Industrial Park, Salta.

The authorization was granted by the Customs Revenue and Control Agency (ARCA) and makes the company the first lithium firm in the province to operate under this modality.

The scheme will allow the company to carry out export-related procedures on site for lithium chloride shipments, eliminating the need to transport merchandise to other customs checkpoints. The measure aims to improve logistics timelines and maintain more accurate records on volumes and values exported.

The new infrastructure links lithium production from the Puna with processing in General Güemes and subsequent shipment to international markets. In this way, different stages of the export chain remain integrated within the province.

The company linked the initiative to "Exporta Salta," the provincial program aimed at expanding participation of Salta-based firms in foreign trade. The In-Plant Customs facility incorporates controls and traceability procedures under ARCA supervision, with the goal of streamlining and expediting production shipments.

The launch also reinforces General Güemes' role as a processing and logistics hub for mining activity in northwestern Argentina.
