Figueroa to Sign Road Infrastructure Agreement with Vaca Muerta Operators in Buenos Aires

Neuquén Governor Rolando Figueroa will sign an agreement next Tuesday in Buenos Aires with Vaca Muerta operating companies to prefinance road infrastructure projects in the province. The ceremony was originally scheduled for Houston but was relocated due to scheduling constraints with the participating companies.

The change of venue will not affect Figueroa's tour of the United States, which includes activities in Washington and Houston. The mission aims to strengthen contacts related to investments, energy, infrastructure, and Vaca Muerta development.

The scheme contemplates royalty advances and toll payment deferrals to accelerate projects considered strategic for hydrocarbon operations. Among the works are the paving of Provincial Route 8, between the intersection with Route 6 and Camino de Tortuga, plus improvements on provincial routes 6, 51, and 7.

Participating companies include YPF, Chevron, Pampa Energía, Pan American Energy, Phoenix Global Resources, Pluspetrol, Shell, Total Austral, Vista Energy, Geopark, and Harbour Energy. The provincial objective is for productive expansion to translate into improvements in logistics, connectivity, and transportation of equipment, workers, and cargo.

Figueroa has set a goal of achieving 1,000 kilometers of new roads during his administration, considering bid projects, completed works, and projects under execution. Within this framework, the Province is advancing the third phase of Provincial Route 7 in northern Neuquén, which seeks to complete the first 90 kilometers of a planned 127-kilometer corridor and reduce the paved distance to that area by approximately 100 kilometers.

Works have also been put out to bid to expand a section of the Norte Highway in Neuquén capital, between the interprovincial bridge and the Casimiro Gómez roundabout. The project includes overpasses at the intersections with Avenida Las Flores and Route 67, along with completion of the Cañadón de las Cabras cloverleaf interchange.
