Oil output hit a new national record in July

Argentina's oil production reached an average of 916,200 barrels per day in July, up 17.2% year-on-year. The result marked a new high for the country.

The performance was mainly driven by Vaca Muerta. The Neuquén formation posted production of 643,100 barrels per day, 26.4% above the level reached in July of the previous year.

In the natural gas segment, national production stood at 158.8 million cubic meters per day, holding steady compared with recent months. In Vaca Muerta, meanwhile, output reached 96.5 million cubic meters per day, up 5.9% year-on-year.

The figures reflect the continued expansion of hydrocarbon output and reinforce Vaca Muerta's role in driving the growth of Argentina's energy production.

The report also points to the growing weight of private companies in the recent evolution of the sector's activity.
