Ampajango Solar Park expects to begin generating power in September

The Ampajango Solar Park, in Catamarca, has surpassed 80% completion and is preparing to begin electricity generation in September. The project occupies a surface area of nine hectares and is located near the Ampajango transforming station.

The first phase will have a capacity of 5 megawatts (MW), while a second stage is expected to raise total capacity to 12 MW. The electricity will be fed into the local grid through Energía Catamarca SAPEM's distribution line.

According to Trackland's site manager, Ezequiel Tejada, 8,424 photovoltaic panels of 720 watts each have already been installed. Together, the equipment has a capacity of more than 6.6 MW.

Governor Raúl Jalil toured the facilities together with San José mayor Antonio Gómez; Santa María mayor Erica Inga; and the Minister of Government, Security and Justice, Alberto Natella. During the visit, the delegation reviewed the state of the infrastructure and the completion of the first construction stage.

The proximity to the transforming station will facilitate the park's connection and the entry of power into the distribution system. With the planned expansion, the project aims to increase the renewable energy contribution and strengthen the regional power grid.
