Government to Review Electricity and Gas Subsidy Requests Without Associated Supply

The national Government ordered a review of subsidy applications for grid-connected electricity and gas that, one year after submission, have been unable to be linked with a supply registered by service providers.

The measure was established through Provision 11/2026 of the Undersecretary of Energy Efficiency and Information within the Ministry of Economy, published in the Official Gazette. The procedure is part of the cleanup of the Focused Energy Subsidies Registry (ReSEF).

The review will cover proceedings where discrepancies exist between information declared by users and data submitted by utility companies regarding electricity or gas services. Affected individuals will receive notification through the contact channels provided when initiating their application.

From that notification, they will have 60 calendar days to correct, complete or update their supply information, or to report a new supply that can be properly linked. If the linkage is not possible once that period expires, the subsidy request will be canceled.

The provision does not establish a general cancellation of benefits nor does it affect all applications over one year old. It also excludes proceedings related to bottled liquefied petroleum gas, as it is not connected to a network and does not have an identifiable supply point through a service provider and customer number.
