Government Moderates Electric Subsidy Reduction in September

The Government decided to moderate the reduction applied to the subsidized electricity block during September, according to available information on the assistance scheme update.
The measure is part of the Targeted Subsidy Regime, which since January stopped using the three-tier income classification system for users: N1, N2, and N3.
The change in criteria was established through decree 943/25, which eliminated the previous classification system for defining access to electricity subsidies.
With the adjustment scheduled for September, the Executive will maintain a subsidized block with a more gradual reduction, although the information provided does not detail the percentage of variation or final impact on bills.
