Two workers die after decompression incident in Vaca Muerta

Two workers died following a decompression incident recorded this Tuesday at a separator plant in the Rincón del Mangrullo block, part of the Vaca Muerta complex, near Añelo. The area is operated by YPF under a joint participation scheme with Pampa Energía.
According to initial estimates, the incident may have originated from a failure in a high-pressure gas line. The impact caused the death of Jonathan Meliqueo, while Cristian Latorre was airlifted by helicopter for medical care and later died.
Following the incident, YPF activated emergency protocols and deployed teams to assist the workers. The company initially reported one fatality and the urgent transfer of another employee; hours later it confirmed Latorre's death.
The company stated that the situation was brought under control and that the plant resumed normal operations. It also noted that it remains in contact with the workers' families to provide support.
The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
