Neuquén legislators approved agreement to finance roads in Vaca Muerta

The Hydrocarbons and Energy Committee of the Neuquén Legislature issued a favorable report, by majority vote, on the agreement signed between Governor Rolando Figueroa and 15 oil companies to finance road works in Vaca Muerta.
The agreement provides for channeling contributions from the hydrocarbon sector toward the improvement of routes linked to operations in the Neuquén formation. Legislative consideration advanced despite the agreement receiving objections during debate.
With the committee report, the agreement is now positioned to continue its course within the provincial Legislature. The initiative seeks to address infrastructure needs associated with the growth of hydrocarbon production in Vaca Muerta.
The approval took place this Wednesday and had the majority support of committee members. The project must now follow the required steps for its eventual passage.
