Comunicaciones Mineras Recognized: Team Journalist Enrolls in Nuclear Energy Diploma Program

The Rio Negro Government, together with the Balseiro Institute and the National University of Cuyo (UNCuyo), awarded a scholarship to a journalist from that province who is part of the Comunicaciones Mineras team to train in nuclear energy and disseminate outreach content on mining and energy.
The training will be conducted through the Nuclear Energy Diploma Program, a Rio Negro initiative comprising 140 hours of virtual coursework with both synchronous and asynchronous activities, running through December 12. It is coordinated by the State Secretariat for Energy and Environment and the Provincial University Liaison Unit, together with the Balseiro Institute, and is funded by the Federal Investment Council (CFI).
The diploma program has generated substantial interest, surpassing 700 registrations with over 200 Rio Negro residents already enrolled. During the program, participants explore the role of nuclear energy, its uses and applications, its benefits, and the challenges associated with this technology.
A Strategic Actor in the Mining and Energy Ecosystem
Comunicaciones Mineras has established itself as a strategic actor in the mining and energy ecosystem, with a community of 87,000 followers on Instagram. With a federal agenda and a vision of sustainable mining, the team contributes to sector growth and the dissemination and understanding of these issues among increasingly broad audiences.
The editorial management expresses its gratitude for this recognition and renews its commitment to academia and mining provinces to contribute to quality journalism, serving as a bridge between mining projects, investors, decision-makers, and society.
Communicating with Solid Information
The scholarship aims to ensure that communication about mining and energy is grounded in solid technical foundations. In this regard, Daiana Neri, secretary of the Provincial University Liaison Unit, stated that government responsibility is to provide quality tools to position energy in the public agenda with reliable information and to train professionals to become communicators in their respective fields.
Graciela Bertolino, director of the Balseiro Institute, emphasized that the province needs informed citizens prepared to understand the technological and energy development ahead, and that knowledge must be accessible, clear, and in service to the community.
Governor Alberto Weretilneck, when launching the initiative, highlighted that Rio Negro has a historic nuclear tradition and that the more prepared society is for the energy transition and the future of nuclear energy, the better positioned the province will be.
