Brazil led regional oil production with Argentina ranking among top five producers

Latin America and the Caribbean reached an oil production of 318 million barrels in April 2026, up 10% from the same month in the previous year.

Brazil led regional performance with 42% of extracted volume. Mexico and Venezuela, together with the South American country, completed the group that concentrated 70% of continental production.

Argentina accounted for 8% of the total and ranked among the five leading oil producers in Latin America and the Caribbean during the analyzed period.

Growth in activity was driven mainly by Brazil, Mexico and Venezuela, which maintained the largest share within the regional hydrocarbon map.
