Argentina to Attract Mining and Energy Investment During Argentina Week in Paris

The Argentine government will take Paris an investment promotion agenda during Argentina Week, scheduled between September 30 and October 2. The program will include meetings with business executives and a bilateral meeting between Javier Milei and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The official delegation will include national officials, governors and private sector representatives. Among the business executives invited are executives linked to energy, hydrocarbons, mining, technology and agribusiness, as well as international leaders from companies such as Glencore, Rio Tinto, Total, Eni and ADNOC.
Mining will be one of the pillars of Argentina's presentation. The organizers anticipated that a global project could be announced related to the development of a mineral other than lithium, although neither the resource nor the company involved was disclosed.
The government will also seek to showcase progress of the Large Investment Incentive Regime. According to data released for the meeting, there are 23 approved projects worth US$49.766 billion and other initiatives under evaluation for US$159.480 billion, distributed among electric power, gas, oil, mining, steel and infrastructure.
The Paris agenda will also have a political objective: to convey to investors that the economic direction will continue after 2027. In this context, the participation of governors seeks to reinforce federal support for the reforms promoted by Casa Rosada and the arrival of capital for strategic sectors.
Argentina Week will be organized by the Argentine embassy in France, with the support of the Argentine Investment and International Trade Agency. The meeting will take place in parallel with the IDEA Colloquium, which will be held in Mar del Plata.
