Electric Consumption Subsidy Extended to 200 kWh During September

The Energy Secretariat expanded the monthly electricity consumption covered by targeted subsidies during September. The threshold increased from 150 to 200 kilowatt-hours (kWh) for eligible users.
The modification was enacted through Resolution 221/2026 and applies regardless of the bioenvironmental zone where each user is located. In this way, the subsidized consumption block incorporates an additional 50 kWh.
The new ceiling will also be used to calculate the extraordinary 25% bonus established by the Government for this month, within the Targeted Energy Subsidies scheme.
Consumption exceeding 200 kWh monthly falls outside the benefit and will be billed according to prevailing rates and tariff schedules. Distribution companies will apply this in corresponding billing.
The measure is exceptional and applies only to September. The effect on each bill will depend on the household's consumption level, the tariff in effect in its jurisdiction, and other components included in the electric service.
