Labor agreement resolves conflict over layoffs at Crexell in Santa Cruz

The Oil, Private Gas and Renewable Energy Workers' Union (Sipger) agreed to the hiring of workers who had been laid off from Crexell in Santa Cruz by Patagonia Servicios Petroleros S.A.

Following the agreement, the union decided to lift the general strike called over the dispute. The deal aims to guarantee job continuity for the affected employees.

The negotiation took place in a meeting led by Rafael Güenchenen, Sipger's general secretary, along with deputy secretary Nallib Rivera and Gustavo Salerno, general manager of Patagonia Resources.

The union stated it will monitor the hiring process to verify compliance with the agreement. Güenchenen said the strike was lifted because the workers had regained their positions in the industry.

Crexell has provided services to the oil and gas industry since 1997, with operations related to oilfield equipment logistics, cranes, transportation and other tasks for the sector. The company has operated in various producing provinces, including Santa Cruz.

The episode occurred amid recent labor disputes in northern Santa Cruz. In other cases, the Labor Secretariat intervened in disputes with oil contractors in Las Heras through mandatory conciliation and measures to reverse layoffs.
